SIGN responds TO COVID-19

SIGN has been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and we want to provide an update on our current operations.

Updated July 23, 2020

SIGN Surgeons receive a shipment in Ethiopia.

On March 23, the governor of Washington issued a “Stay at Home, Stay Healthy” order to slow down the spread of COVID-19. This requires all people in the state to remain at home except for essential activity. As a medical device manufacturer, SIGN is considered an essential business, so we can remain open and employees can report to work.

SIGN Management is taking precautions to ensure the health of our staff, and our risk committee met to discuss with managers ways that SIGN can continue providing educational resources and implants to SIGN Surgeons and Patients. All staff whose jobs allow are working remotely. The staff who need to report to work are following handwashing and distancing guidelines in order to stay safe and healthy.

We are still able to operate normally. We are producing instruments and implants, and shipping packages to hospitals as normal.

In order to limit the spread of the virus, SIGN Headquarters is closed to visitors and volunteers at this time, and most of our administrative staff are working remotely. We are still operating and available to help you. Please fill out the Contact Us form, email info@signfracturecare.org, or call 509.371.1107 with any questions, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The CDC and Washington State Department of Health require that people wear cloth face masks in public places to prevent further spread of COVID-19. SIGN employees are complying with these requirements while working at SIGN headquarters.

All of our in-person events have been rescheduled and are now online events, including our fundraising benefits. The in-person SIGN Conference is cancelled for 2020 and is being replaced with SIGN Trauma Sessions, a digital format for orthopaedic trauma presentations and discussions. Contact programoffice@signfracture.org for details about this series.

We hope to see you in 2021 and that you all remain healthy and safe.
