Business Services Director

Location: Richland, WA, Hybrid

Position Type: Full-Time, Executive

Position Summary: SIGN is seeking a Business Services Director to serve as an executive champion and operational leader for our organization. This role will lead and optimize SIGN’s financial, legal/compliance, technology, human resources, and business operations. 

As a strategic leader, the Director will optimize cohesion, efficiency, and cross-operational harmony to these functional areas. Reporting directly to the CEO, they will collaborate closely with internal leadership to champion legal/regulatory compliance, financial efficiency, proactive risk management, and technology optimization organization wide. The Director’s goal is to build resilient systems that support, resource, and elevate the day-to-day work of our established teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executive Leadership & Oversight of Business Services

    Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for financial, legal/compliance, technology, human resources, and business operations.

  • Compliance, Risk Management & Internal Collaboration

    Collaborate with internal leadership to ensure strict legal adherence, proactive risk management, and regulatory compliance organization wide.

  • Strategic Planning

    Work with the CEO and leadership team to develop strategic plans that support SIGN’s mission

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Technology, Health Sciences, or a related field. An MBA or advanced professional degree is desired. 

Professional Experience: 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in business operations, corporate services, or financial management. 

Cross-Functional Knowledge: Deep expertise in running complex financial, human resources, technology, or regulatory operations. 

Strategic Resource Management: Demonstrated experience analyzing operational expenses and strategically allocating resources (such as technology infrastructure) to maximize efficiency. 

Compliance & Risk Management: Strong familiarity with navigating legal frameworks, labor laws, financial controls, and regulatory compliance standards is preferred. 

What we offer:

Pay and Benefits: $100-160k depending on experience. SIGN offers a competitive benefits package featuring: Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, FSA, HSA, 401K with Employer match up to 4%.  32 hours of personal time annually and up to 96 hours of Vacation annually.

Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and process optimization-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will manage core accounting activities including AR/AP, maintain general ledger accuracy, and support monthly financial reporting. The ideal candidate not only brings a strong foundation in standard accounting principles, but is also able to identify workflow inefficiencies and using technology to streamline, standardize, and automate routine tasks for maximum efficiency, accuracy and reproducibility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, preparing timely balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.

  • Evaluate existing financial and operational workflows; design and implement streamlined procedures, automated templates, or system enhancements to reduce manual entry and improve data integrity.

  • Assist in inventory control, cost analysis, and variance tracking to support production efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operational teams to ensure financial controls and internal compliance standards are maintained.

  • Support external audit preparations and ad-hoc financial reporting projects as needed.

  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and use technology to streamline, standardize and automate.

Required/Desired Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least two years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Core Competencies: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, sharp attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Process Improvement Mindset: Proven passion for process optimization, automation (e.g., advanced Excel, ERP system optimizations and/or AI tool integration), and creating scalable, reproducible workflows.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP software systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills desired.

  • Manufacturing Background: Experience in a manufacturing, production, or job-costing environment (particularly Delmiaworks ERP) is a plus, but not required.
