SIGN Spine Program in Ethiopia

Spine+flyer+-+vs7.jpg

You can help start the first spine surgery training center at St. Paul Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are partnering with Dr. Supriya Singh, Dr. Parham Rasoulinejad, and Team Broken Earth to train Dr. Birhanu and his team, donate the instruments and implants they need to care for spine injuries, and empower them to educate other surgeons in East Africa.

This program will use the SIGN Model — educating surgeons and equipping them with appropriate instruments and implants — to create sustainable care for patients with spine injuries.

Dr. Richard Gellman is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in limb deformity correction and a SIGN Board member. He teaches a limb deformity course at the annual SIGN International Orthopaedic Conference and travels to teach regional limb deformity courses every year.

Partnering with experts like Dr. Gellman enables SIGN to educate surgeons in a variety of orthopaedic procedures, helping them develop their skills and provide better care for more patients.
